Download EBookNEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 exam date soon. Session 1 is expected to be held in January-February 2025 and JEE Main 2025 registration will likely begin next month. In the latest update, NTA announced the new official website for JEE Mains 2025 and scrapped optional questions from section B of both papers, paper 1 and 2.

As per NTA, the JEE Main 2025 official website is jeemain.nta.nic.in. NTA JEE Main 2025 information bulletin containing details on JEE Main exam date 2025, registration, syllabus , eligibility, exam pattern, marking scheme, and more will be issued on this website only. While announcing the new website, the testing agency said, “For the conduct of the Joint Entrance Examination (Main) - 2025, the registration process for the online application form will be starting in due course of time.”
JEE Main 2025 exam pattern
In a major rejig, NTA announced that the optional questions have been scrapped from section B of each subject in JEE Main 2025 citing the end of Covid-19 as a public health emergency in May last year. The exam agency explained that it had introduced the option to attempt any five questions out of 10 as a temporary measure to accommodate the challenges posed by the pandemic.
As per JEE Main new pattern 2025, section B in paper 1 and paper 2 will only contain five questions in physics, chemistry, and mathematics each and students will be required to attempt all of them without any options.

JEE Main 2025 registration
JEE Main application form 2025 will be released in the month of November, as per previous years’ trends. The detailed information on JEE Main 2025 registration will be made available in the JEE Main information bulletin.
Last year, JEE Main was conducted in two sessions – session 1 in January and session 2 in April. The duration of the entrance exam was three hours for paper 1 and paper 2 and 3.5 hours for paper 2a and 2b both. The test was conducted in two shifts – shift 1 from 9 am to 12 noon and shift 2 from 3 pm to 6 pm.
