Jamia School Admission 2026: Applications are open for Nursery to Class 11, with forms for junior classes closing January 27. Lottery-based selection is scheduled on February 7 and 8.

Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has issued the admission prospectus for its schools for the academic session 2026-27 and opened the applications window for nursery, preparatory, Class 1, 6, 9 and 11. Eligible candidates can apply for the admissions through the official portal at admission.jmi.ac.in.
The university states that applicants, including foreign nationals and NRI wards, can apply to Mushir Fatma Nursery School, Jamia Middle School, Jamia Senior Secondary School, Syed Abid Husain Senior Secondary School (self-financed), and Jamia Girls Senior Secondary School (self-financed). The application fee is Rs 500 for Indian candidates and Rs 1,500 for foreign nationals and NRI wards.
As per the official schedule, the last date to submit the application form for Nursery, Preparatory, and Class I is January 27, 2026, and the selection will be done through a lottery on February 7 for preparatory and Class 1, and on February 8 for nursery. The entrance tests for higher classes, including 6, 9 and 11, will be held between late March and mid-April 2026.
The institute states that the JMI school admissions for the 2026-27 session will see no fee increase for Indian students across all classes and schools. “This is a significant milestone,” said Asif, VC JMI, on the occasion, adding, “Our schools are the foundation and the bedrock of the education system of India.”
The announcement of no fee hike by JMI comes amid a broader debate on school fees in Delhi. Recently, over 800 private unaided recognised schools in the capital moved the Delhi High Court, challenging new fee regulations introduced by the Directorate of Education, which cap fees and registration charges. In contrast, JMI’s schools have retained the existing fee structure while emphasising inclusive education and infrastructure upgrades.
Students and parents can check the school-wise and class-wise fee structure for the 2026-27 academic session from the prospectus available on the official website.
The class-wise form submission deadline and entrance exam dates for Jamia schools' admission 2026 are given in the table below.
