Jawaharlal Nehru University will hold its 9th convocation at Prajnan Bhavan, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, from 10 am onwards.

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) will hold the 9th JNU convocation tomorrow, January 12, at the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. More than 460 PhD scholars will receive their doctoral degrees at the convocation.
JNU convocation will begin from 10 am onwards, according to the official JNU notice. The convocation will be telecast live on JNU’s official YouTube channel and Facebook handle.
The convocation will be attended by the chief guest C P Radhakrishnan the vice president of India, and guest of honour, Dharmendra Pradhan, union minister of education, government of India. Kanwal Sibal the chancellor and Santishree Dhulipudi Pandit the vice-chancellor of JNU, will also be present, along with senior faculty members, academics and invited dignitaries.

According to the official JNU notice, the convocation reflects years of academic training and research at JNU, particularly for doctoral scholars whose work spans sciences, social sciences, languages, international studies, public policy and interdisciplinary research.
“The PhD programme remains central to the university’s academic life,” the official JNU notice read, adding that the awarding of over 460 doctoral degrees highlights the scale of research work produced at the institution.
The event will be attended by members of the academic community, graduating students and guests. Media organisations have been invited to cover the ceremony, with arrangements made for media passes and designated seating.
