Jharkhand JET 2025: The last date to register for the exam is October 6. Know eligibility criteria and application fee.

The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has issued the Jharkhand Eligibility Test (JET) 2025 notification. Eligible candidates can apply for the JPSC JET 2025 exam from September 16 through the official website at jpsc.gov.in.

The registration for Jharkhand JET 2025 will close on October 6, 2025. Candidates can pay the application fee till October 7, 2025, while the application correction window will remain open from October 8 to 10, 2025.

The application fee for JET 2025 is Rs 575 for Unreserved (UR) candidates, Rs 300 for candidates belonging to Backwards Class-I (BC-I), BC-II, and Economically Weaker Section (EWS). Candidates from the Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD), and Third Gender categories of Jharkhand are required to pay Rs 150.

The Jharkhand JET exam is conducted to determine the eligibility of candidates for appointment as Assistant Professors and for admission to PhD programmes in universities and colleges across Jharkhand. The JET certificate carries lifetime validity for both purposes.

The examination will have two papers conducted in OMR-based pen-and-paper mode. Paper 1 will carry 100 marks with 50 questions, focusing on teaching and research aptitude, reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking, and general awareness.

Paper 2 will carry 200 marks with 100 subject-specific questions designed to test domain knowledge. The total duration of the test will be three hours and all questions will be compulsory.

JPSC JET 2025: Eligibility criteria

The eligibility criteria for the JPSC JET 2025 are given below.

  • Candidates should hold a Master’s degree or equivalent qualification from a UGC-recognised university or institution. Unreserved and EWS candidates are required to secure at least 55% marks. For reserved category candidates, the minimum required marks are 50%.
  • Students who are in the final year of their Master’s degree, or those awaiting results, can also apply. However, they will be considered eligible for appointment as Assistant Professor or admission to PhD programmes only after completing their degree with the prescribed marks.
  • PhD holders whose Master’s degree was completed on or before September 19, 1991, are eligible for a relaxation of 5% in the required aggregate marks.
  • The JET or National Eligibility Test (NET) remains the minimum eligibility for appointment as Assistant Professor and admission to PhD programmes in Jharkhand. Candidates who have already cleared JET in a subject are not permitted to reapply for the test in the same subject.
