KCET 2025 counselling begins; option entry open for over 80,000 engineering, agriculture seats

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has opened the option entry facility for candidates who have qualified the Karnataka Undergraduate Common Entrance Test (UGCET) or KCET counselling 2025. Candidates will have to scan the QR code given in the verification slip using the link provided on the KEA portal to enter their preferences.

The complete schedule for KCET 2025 counselling will be announced soon on the official website, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. Meanwhile, the KCET seat matrix for both engineering and agriculture has been uploaded. A total of 77,068 engineering seats are available in Karnataka for the first round of KEA KCET BTech counselling.

Counselling for agriculture admissions will be done to fill a total of 3,350 seats, according to the seat matrix for round 1.

The four-year BTech Computer Science Engineering, and CSE with specialization in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and cyber security were the popular choice of the candidates, as per past KCET cut-off trends.

How to fill KCET option entry

Candidates, who have qualified the state-level entrance exam and fulfill the eligibility criteria set by the KEA, will be eligible to enter the choices of courses and colleges.

• Visit the KEA official website, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in.
• Click on the KCET option entry link given on the homepage.
• Now, scan the QR code given on the verification slip.
• Or, enter the application number of the CET number given on the verification slip.
• Once logged in, enter your choice of courses and colleges in the order of preference.
• Review the entries made, and save the choices submitted.
