KSET 2025 registration begins today at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in; exam on November 2

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) will commence the registration process for the Karnataka State Eligibility Test (KSET) 2025 today, August 29. Eligible candidates will be able to register for the Karnataka SET 2025 through the official website at cetonline.karnataka.gov.in/kea.

As per the official schedule, the last date to submit KSET 2025 applications is September 18, while the deadline for payment of the application fee is September 19. The KSET 2025 exam is scheduled to be held on November 2.

This year, the Karnataka state eligibility test will be conducted for 33 subjects. The admit cards for the KSET 2025 will be issued on October 24. KEA has clarified that applications will be accepted only through online mode.

The application fee for KSET 2025 is Rs 1,000 for candidates belonging to the General category, Category II(A), II(B), III(A), III(B), and for candidates from other states. For category I, Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwD), and transgender candidates, the application fee is Rs 700.

KSET 2025: Educational qualification

To be eligible for the KSET 2025, candidates should fulfil the following educational qualifications.

  • Candidates should have secured at least 55% marks in a Master’s degree or equivalent examination from universities/institutions recognised by UGC, New Delhi, in the subject opted for KSET.
  • A relaxation to 50% marks is provided for candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC (Cat-I, IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB), PwD, and transgender categories.
  • Candidates pursuing a Master’s degree (first or second year) or awaiting final year results can also apply. Such candidates will be admitted provisionally, and the eligibility certificate will be issued only upon producing proof of passing the Master’s degree with the required percentage within two years from the date of KSET result.
  • Candidates should appear for KSET in the subject of their post-graduation. If the subject is not listed under KSET, they should apply for UGC-NET or UGC-CSIR NET.
  • Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree holders whose Master’s level examination was completed by September 19, 1991 are eligible for a 5% relaxation in aggregate marks.

“Candidate who became eligible in Previous KSET exam are not eligible to apply again in the same subject. If any candidate found to be eligible in previous KSET tests and reappearing on same subject in current KSET, their candidature will be cancelled and the previous eligibility is withdrawn through de-notification,” the official notification said.
