Among fresh regular candidates in the Maharashtra HSC 2026 exam, a total of 7,58,184 boys appeared, out of which 6,58,144 passed, recording a pass percentage of 86.80%. On the other hand, 6,74,874 girls appeared for the exam, and 6,28,699 passed, achieving a higher pass percentage of 93.15%.

A total of 20,796 eligible candidates were awarded additional marks based on their performance in sports, NCC, and Scout and Guide activities.

The Maharashtra Board has announced that the re-evaluation process for the HSC 12th result 2026 will begin from tomorrow, May 3. Students who are not satisfied with their marks can apply for rechecking and re-evaluation of their answer sheets through the official website by May 17. Candidates will first need to apply for photocopies of their answer sheets and then submit the re-evaluation request online within the given time period. The entire process will be conducted online, and applicable fees must be paid through digital payment modes.

A total of 14,44,713 candidates registered for the exam, out of which 14,33,058 candidates appeared, and 12,86,843 candidates passed. The Maharashtra HSC pass percentage of fresh candidates was 89.79%, compared to 91.88% in 2025, showing a drop of 2.09 percentage points.

According to the Maharashtra HSC 2026 result, private candidates registered 37,559 students, out of which 36,941 appeared for the exam and 28,634 students passed, recording a pass percentage of 80.21%. Repeater candidates registered 50,876 students, out of which 50,346 appeared and 18,349 students passed, with a pass percentage of 36.44%. Persons with Disabilities candidates registered 8,446 students, out of which 8,367 appeared and 7,579 passed, recording a pass percentage of 90.58%.

According to the Maharashtra Board HSC result, stream-wise performance shows that the Science stream recorded the highest pass percentage of 96.44 percent, followed by Commerce with 87.03 percent, ITI with 81.78 percent, Vocational courses with 82.74 percent, and Arts with 78.02 percent.

A total of 14.44 lakh students registered for the Maharashtra board HSC exam. Out of them, 14.33 lakh students appeared for the exam, and 12.86 lakh students passed. Overall, the pass rate was 89.79%. Among private candidates, 80.21% passed, while among repeaters, the pass rate was 36.44%.

Last year’s data showed that the Science stream had a pass rate of 97.82%, followed by Commerce and Arts. Students are now waiting for the updated stream-wise results, which will be announced during the press conference before the Maharashtra HSC results are released at 12 pm.
