Recently, the state education minister Dadaji Bhuse clarified that Maharashtra will not adopt 100% of the Central Board of Secondary Education ( CBSE ) curriculum and rather incorporate its ‘good aspects’ for better learning outcomes. As part of the process, the board plans to introduce skill-based, conceptual, and competency-based evaluation methods like the central board. However, Marathi, geography, and history will be retained, he said.
Following the row over announcement on adoption of CBSE pattern, the school education department issued a clarification that the board is not being replaced. In March this year, the Maharashtra government indicated that it will implement the CBSE syllabus up to Class 12 by 2028.
