Maharashtra ITI Admissions 2026: 79,278 students enrolled; 39.36% decline from last year

The Directorate of Vocational Education and Training (DVET), Maharashtra, has released the updated status report for the centralized online ITI admission process 2026, today July 27, 2026. As per the report, a total of 79,278 candidates have been admitted to government and private Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) through both the CAP and institute-level rounds. While, compared to last year's report, there is a 39.36% decline in admission.

The report shows that the total intake capacity of ITI in Maharashtra is 1,45,144 of which 95,820 seats are in government institutes and 49,324 seats are in the private institutes. Out of this, 1,33,731 are allocated under the centralised admission process (CAP) and the remaining seats in the institutes are allocated under minority quota and institute level quota.

The data also shows that admissions are halfway there, with 54.62% of the total admissions. The government ITIs and private ITIs have so far achieved an admission percentage of 65.37% and 33.74% respectively.

CAP rounds and private ITI admission record

During the first CAP round 78,496 candidates were allocated seats, with 41,641 of those candidates admitted seats, which makes a 53.05% admission rate. The percentage of admission at govt ITIs was 50.47% and in private ITIs was 64.86%.

In CAP round 2, 44,680 seat allotments and 19,703 admissions of which 44.10% of seats were allotted and confirmed. 42.58% of the admissions were recorded by government institutes while 53.95% were recorded by the private institutes of ITIs.

In round three of CAP, 33,027 candidates got seats and 17,021 got admission. The overall admission percentage was 51.54%, government ITIs had an admission rate of 49.12% and private institutes had a 64.26% admission rate.

As per the report, admissions were made in all seats available at the institute level in private ITIs with 715 admissions made, which is 98.62% of the available seats. The process of filling minority quota seats was also achieved with 198 minority quota seats being filled to 100 per cent.

Overall admissions

In all, 79,278 candidates have been enrolled in ITIs in Maharashtra, which have a total enrolment capacity of 1,45,144. According to the latest report, the overall admission percentage against the intake in the government ITIs is 62,634, whereas that in private institutes is 16,644, which makes 54.62% of the overall total as of the said report date.
