The State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra, has opened the registration process for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test - Postgraduate (NEET PG 2025) counselling following a revision in qualifying criteria by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).
The move allows newly qualified candidates to participate in the ongoing Maharashtra centralised admission process (CAP) round 3. The decision comes after the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) announced a revised schedule for the NEET PG round 3 counselling process.
“In view of the lower down of qualifying criteria for admission to Post Graduate Medical Course by NBE & revised schedule declared by MCC, the competent authority has now decided to start the registration process to allow the newly qualified candidates to participate in the ongoing process,” the official notice said.
As per the official schedule, candidates can complete online registration and session application for Maharashtra NEET PG 2025 from January 19 to January 26, 2026, by 11:59 pm through the official portal.
Registration includes payment of non-refundable registration fees of Rs 3,000 and a security deposit as applicable. The general list of registered candidates, including in-service, NRI, and PwBD candidates, will be published on January 27, 2026.
Candidates who were not registered in earlier rounds, those allotted a seat in CAP round 2 but did not join, and those eligible under the revised criteria should register and pay the required fee and security deposit to participate in CAP round 3.
The NBE has lowered the qualifying criteria for NEET PG 2025. General category candidates, including Economically Weaker Section (EWS), now require the 7th percentile with a minimum score of 103.
General Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) candidates should meet the 5th percentile at a score of 90. Reserved category and PwBD candidates have a revised qualifying criterion of 0 percentile with a score of -40.
