MCC NEET UG Counselling 2026: Aiming for AIIMS Delhi for MBBS admissions? Seat matrix for top medical colleges

Every year more than 20 lakh MBBS aspirants compete in the NEET UG examination for admission to top medical colleges across the country, including All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi, Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), and others. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will announce the NEET UG 2026 counselling schedule soon on its official website at mcc.nic.in. MCC NEET LIVE 2026.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 counselling for admission to 15% All India Quota seats, 100% open seats at Banaras Hindu University (BHU), AIIMS and Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), and other top colleges.

According to the MCC seat matrix, there are more than 1.36 lakh MBBS seats across 823 medical colleges for the 2026-27 academic session. The counselling will also be held to fill a total of 27,868 BDS seats at 319 dental colleges across the country, as per the Dental Council of India (DCI).

Notably, AIIMS Delhi was ranked 1 in the NIRF ranking 2026 for the top medical institutions in India, followed by the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh on rank 2 and Christian Medical College in Tamil Nadu in third position.

NEET UG 2026: Top 10 MBBS colleges in India

Candidates seeking admission to MBBS, BDS and allied programmes through the MCC NEET UG 2026 counselling can check the top 50 medical colleges as per the NIRF ranking 2026 from the table given below.

Of the total medical seats, 63,296 are available in government medical colleges, while 73,643 seats are offered by private medical colleges across the country.

The MCC counselling process includes registration, choice submission, seat allotment, reporting to allotted medical colleges, fee and documents verification. MBBS aspirants are advised to keep an eye on official website for latest update on counselling.
