Use NowNEW DELHI: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has advanced the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test - Postgraduate (NEET PG 2024) exam to June 23. The internship cut-off date remains unchanged, as per the latest update from the NMC.
The decision was taken during a meeting held by the Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB), National Medical Commission with Medical Counselling Committee, Directorate General for Health Sciences and National Board of Examinations for Medical Sciences.
The exam was initially slated to be held on March 3 and was later postponed to July 7 after the commission received several representations from the prospective candidates.
As per the revised schedule, the NMC will be declaring the NEET PG result 2024 by July 15. Meanwhile, the NEET MDS exam 2024 was held on March 18 even as students requested and filed a petition before the Supreme Court to postpone the dental medical entrance exam. The major concern raised by the aspirants was that the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts a common counselling for NEET PG and PG dental and MDS aspirants will have to wait till the NEET PG exams and internship conclude.
However, the NMC has now announced to start the NEET PG counselling August 5 and conclude on October 15.
