NEW DELHI: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is expected to issue the National Eligibility Entrance Test - Postgraduate (NEET PG) counselling 2024 schedule soon. Students aspiring to pursue PG medical degrees will be able to check MCC NEET PG 2024 counselling dates on the official website, mcc.nic.in.
The NEET PG Supreme Court case will be heard on October 25. A bench led by Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud will hear petitions filed by several PG medical aspirants who have raised eyebrows on the transparency of the exam in absence of the detailed results. NEET PG 2024 candidates want the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) to release NEET PG answer key 2024, candidates' response sheets, and raw scores.
MCC will conduct NEET PG counselling in four rounds – round 1, round 2, mop-up round, and stray vacancy round. The admission process will include registration, choice-filling and locking, seat allotment, and reporting to the institute. The detailed information will be provided in the PG information bulletin 2024.
MCC NEET PG counselling is conducted for admission to All India Quota (AIQ) seats in MD, MS, DNB, and PG Diploma programmes offered by government, private, and deemed medical colleges across the country. Candidates who qualify the NEET PG exam are eligible to participate in the counselling process.

Tagging Union health minister JP Nadda in a post on X, a NEET PG 2024 aspirant said, "Sir the NEET PG case filed by 19 students has put all qualified aspirants in great distress as counselling is being deferred endlessly, case is being postponed every week. Please ensure counselling starts soon. Pattern of exam and percentile usage was declared before exams itself."

Option 1: Automatic seat cancellation If a candidate does not report to the allocated institute within the specified timeframe in Round 1 of NEET PG counselling 2024, their seat will be automatically canceled, known as a 'free exit.'
Option 2: Seat acceptance Candidates satisfied with their Round 1 allotment must report to the designated college within the given period to confirm their seat.
Option 3: Upgradation option Candidates who are not satisfied with their current allotment can apply for a seat upgrade in Round 2. If no upgrade is granted, their original seat remains secured.
