The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has once again extended the NEET PG counselling 2025 choice filling until further notice due to change in seat matrix. However, several candidates have expressed their frustration over the prolonged delay in the counselling process and have demanded transparent NEET PG counselling 2025 schedule and seat matrix.

MCC said in its official notice that the NEET PG counselling 2025 choice filling has been extended following the updates from National Medical Commission (NMC) and the National Board of Examinations (NBE) regarding updates in the NEET PG seat matrix 2025.

“First, counselling started 59 days late after results. Now, NBE withdraws 169 DNB seats & NMC revises seat matrix just when candidates were finalizing choices. This administrative chaos is unacceptable!,” a user posted on X (formerly Twitter)

The NBEMS withdrew 169 PG DNB seats after the MCC NEET PG counselling 2025 process for round 1 began. MCC recently removed 73 PG seats from the NEET PG 2025 seat matrix, including 39 from Gujarat, 12 from Jammu and Kashmir, 4 from Telangana, 9 from Uttar Pradesh, 2 from West Bengal, and 7 from Chhattisgarh.

NEET PG 2025: Aspirants ‘outcry’ delay in counselling

MCC further clarified that the revision of the seat matrix aims to remove excess seats and reapply the roster system to ensure reservation policy is followed as per the NEET PG guidelines 2025.

The general secretary of FORDA India Meet Ghonia has slammed MCC’s move and questioned the mismanagement between the government bodies for delay in MCC NEET PG counselling 2025.

“This is gross mismanagement between three bodies of Health Ministry: NMC, NBEMS & MCC. Even after 3 months of results, seat matrix isn't decided yet. Thousands of aspirants are sitting unemployed and wasting their important months. Thousands of Resident Doctors are overburdened with work,” Ghonia posted on his official X account.

NEET PG 2025: SC hearing on 'exam transparency’

Earlier, the doctors' group and aspirants blamed the NMC for the delay in approving NEET PG seats and the pending Supreme Court (SC) hearing regarding the decision on NEET PG 2025 exam transparency.

According to the Live Law reports, SC has asked NBEMS to disclose its policy on publishing answer keys. SC observed that transparency is an important aspect and said it would examine whether releasing the NEET PG answer keys could "compromise the integrity" of the examination.

The Court, however, clarified that it would not entertain individual allegations regarding discrepancies in the NEET PG 2025 exam. A bench comprising Justice PS Narasimha and Justice Vipul M Pancholi heard petitions today regarding the PG exam transparency.

During the last SC hearing, the court gave NBEMS two weeks to respond to the series of petitions by candidates. Notably, the SC hearing was scheduled for October 28. However, the top court postponed the NEET PG 2025 SC hearing multiple times.

NEET PG 2025: Technical glitches while registration, aspirants allege

Furthermore, the United Doctors Front (UDF) chairperson has requested the counselling committee and the ministry to consider reopening of NEET PG counselling 2025 registration portal and the NRI quota document submission facility for a limited period of time, as many were unable to complete their registration process due to "technical glitches."

"As MCC extends #NEETPG choice filling till further notice, but many aspirants still stuck with incomplete registration/NRI quota issues due to technical glitches. Team UDF requests MoHFW_INDIA, DGHS India to consider their genuine demand & reopen the portal to ensure justice & transparency for all,” the UDF chairperson Lakshya Mittal posted on his X account.
