NEET PG 2025 Counselling LIVE: Gujarat, Kerala, TN registration underway; transparency plea hearing in 2 weeks

The Supreme Court was scheduled to hear the NEET PG 2025 transparency plea on September 12. However, the matter has now been adjourned, and the next hearing will take place after a period of two weeks.

The last date to apply for Tamil Nadu NEET PG 2025 counselling is September 16 by 5 pm. Dates for merit list publication, choice filling, and seat allotment will be announced soon. MCC has not yet released the schedule for All India Quota (AIQ) seats.

The Directorate of Medical Education and Research selection committee has commenced the registration process for Tamil Nadu NEET PG counselling 2025. Eligible candidates can register on the official website, tnmedicalselection.net, to participate in the counselling for PG admissions.

Candidates willing to apply for Gujarat NEET PG counselling 2025 have to register on the official website, medadmgujarat.ncode.in. PIN creation is the first step for Gujarat NEET PG registration 2025. Candidates will have to fill in their NEET PG roll number, NEET marksheet, email address, mobile number, and registration fee. 

As per the data shared by ministry of health and family welfare, PG seats have increased from 31,185 before 2014 to 74,306 as of now.

This year, 2,42,000 candidates appeared for the NEET PG 2025 exam. The exam was conducted in a single shift from 9 am to 12:30 pm.

As per CEE Kerala, candidates appearing for the Kerala NEET PG 2025 counselling, OCI cardholders can compete for general and NRI quota seats but are not eligible for reservation benefits. Non-Keralite service doctors and children of non-Keralite parents with an MBBS from Kerala medical colleges are also eligible to participate in the counselling, without any reservation benefits.

The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) Kerala has advised candidates to keep essential documents ready for the NEET PG 2025 counselling process. These include:

• SC, ST certificate issued by the Tehsildar.
• Non-creamy layer certificate for SEBC and OEC candidates, issued by the Kerala government for study purposes.
• Income certificate issued by the village officer for availing education and fee-related benefits.
• Nativity certificate from the village officer if the place of birth is not specified in the school records.
• Caste or community certificate from the village officer if not mentioned in school documents.

As per the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), AIQ stands for All India Quota, which constitutes 50% of the seats in government medical colleges across India. Candidates qualifying NEET PG can participate in AIQ counselling to secure MD, MS, and other postgraduate medical seats outside their home state. The remaining 50% of seats are filled through state quota counselling, managed by individual state authorities.

According to the Kerala NEET PG 2025 guidelines, general category candidates admitted through NEET PG will have to serve one year in assigned hospitals, while service quota candidates are required to serve for 10 years, including two years in remote or difficult areas. Candidates who discontinue the course will have to pay government expenses plus a Rs 50 lakh penalty.

The Supreme Court has adjourned the hearing on all NEET PG 2025 transparency petitions by two weeks. The matter was earlier scheduled for today, September 12. The petitions were filed by aspirants and groups, including the United Doctors Front, challenging NBEMS for releasing only question IDs instead of full question papers. Students had also raised concerns over mark discrepancies and confusion caused by the new normalisation method. Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice KV Viswanathan will take up the matter after the two-week adjournment.

A doctor in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, allegedly died by suicide after failing to clear the NEET PG exam, police said. The 29-year-old shot himself using his father’s licensed gun on September 11. Police recovered the weapon, but no note was found.

DMER has opened Tamil Nadu NEET PG 2025 counselling registration at tnmedicalselection.net. The application fee is Rs 3,000 for government seats and Rs 5,000 for management quota, with a refundable security deposit of Rs 30,000 for government colleges and Rs 1 lakh for self-financing colleges.

CEE Kerala has begun the application process for NEET PG 2025 counselling for state quota seats in government medical colleges, RCC Thiruvananthapuram, and private self-financing colleges. The last date to apply is September 22 at cee.kerala.gov.in.

NEET PG Supreme Court hearing on the transparency plea has been adjourned for two weeks. The bench, which was scheduled to take up the matter today, extended the timeline and posted the case for the next hearing after two weeks. The plea seeks greater transparency in the postgraduate medical entrance exam, including the release of full question papers instead of question IDs.

Several medical aspirants and the United Doctors Front (UDF) have filed a petition for the NEET PG 2025 answer key in the Supreme Court. NBEMS published only question IDs and answers. Candidates have raised concerns about discrepancies in scores, ranging from 50 to 150 marks.

The Supreme Court will resume the hearing for cases related to the NEET PG 2025 transparency plea. A bench comprising Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice KV Viswanathan will take up issues related to the NEET PG answer key. 

The CEE Kerala has made some revisions in NEET PG counselling, which are listed below. 

• Candidates should be Indian citizens of Kerala origin.
• Indian citizens are eligible for admission unless otherwise notified.
• Candidates who are children of non-Keralite parents but have a MBBS degree from a Kerala medical college can also apply without communal, special, or disability reservation benefits.
• Following a Kerala High Court judgment, the nativity clause was struck down, making non-Keralite service doctors eligible to apply.

No, the Supreme Court did not remove the state quota for NEET PG.  However, it had ruled that domicile-based reservation for PG medical college within the state quota are 'unconstitutional.' The Kerala NEET PG counselling 2025 fee structure for the Government Medical Colleges is shown in the table below. 

TN NEET PG Counselling 2025 | As per the TN bond policy, candidates applying for state quota have to pay a penalty of up to Rs 15 lakh if they choose to discontinue the opted programme after the resignation period. The fees discontinuation for the PG diploma course is Rs 10 lakh and PG course is Rs 15 lakh

The Directorate of Medical Education and Research selection committee has started the registration process for TN NEET PG counselling 2025. Candidates can apply for TN NEET PG counselling on the official website, tnmedicalselection.net. 

The Tamil Nadu NEET PG counselling fee is Rs 1,000, and registration fee for government seats, and seats in self-financing colleges affiliated to Dr MGR Medical University is Rs 3,000.

The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE) Kerala has commenced the Kerala NEET PG counselling 2025 registration. The last date for admission registration is September 22. 

NEET PG Counselling 2025 | Candidates selected for PG medical course will have to execute two bonds on stamp paper of Rs 200 each at the time of admission. The bonds have to be submitted to ensure service as a senior resident for one year. However, if candidates decide to drop the course after admission, they are legally bound to pay the government expenses and a penalty of Rs 50 lakh.

The Supreme Court will hear all petitions over the NEET PG 2025 exam transparency today. Even after SC's directive, NBE only issued NEET PG question IDs and answers. Furthermore, medical aspirants have alleged mark discrepancies ranging from 50 to 150. 

According to the data shared by ministry of health and family welfare, PG seats have been increased from 31,185 before 2014 to 74,306 as of now. There has been a significant increase of 101.5% in medical colleges from 387 before 2015 to 780 as of now, says the government.

NEET PG 2025 qualified candidates can register for Gujarat NEET PG counselling 2025 on the official website, medadmgujarat.ncode.in. Candidates will first have to generate the ePIN using their NEET PG roll number, name as per the mark sheet, address, mobile number, and required fee. Gujarat NEET PG application candidates have to pay Rs 3,000 as an application fee and Rs 25,000 as a security deposit.

Gujarat Admission Committee for Professional Postgraduate Medical Courses (ACPPGMEC) has commenced the Gujarat NEET PG counselling 2025 registrations along with the Personal Identification Number (PIN) generation window to fill 50% of the state quota seats. The committee has also issued a list of 211 candidates whose MBBS and FMGE marks have been undertaken for breaking ties with NEET PG ranks 2025. 

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced the Karnataka NEET PG admission process for the academic year 2025. Candidates enrolling in Karnataka medical colleges have to undergo one year of mandatory service after completing their MBBS, and those shortlisted under the government or AIQ quota will be bound by a three-year service bond in government hospitals.

Candidates who cancel a seat in round 1 after admission or one day before round 2 counselling will have to pay a processing fee of Rs 25,000. Furthermore, all candidates, including in-service candidates, have to pay Rs 1,50,000 for medical and dental degrees and Rs 60,000 for PG diploma courses in round 2 allotment, if they fail to join the course.

NBEMS announced the NEET PG cut-offs 2025.  Candidates must note that the NEET PG cut-offs were not declared last year, as the board adopted a normalisation method to calculate percentile since the exam was held in two shifts. This year, NEET PG cut-offs show a dip across categories as compared to 2023.

As per the SC's directive, NBEMS agreed to conduct the NEET PG 2025 exam in a single shift, but did not specify whether it would provide answer keys and raw scores of aspirants; however, later the board published the results of NEET PG directly. Meanwhile, aspirants demanded that the board publish full questions and not just question IDs, along with the correct answers and response sheets of candidates. 

The fight over the alleged NEET PG 2025 discrepancies reached the Supreme Court, wherein candidates filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) demanding clarity on raw marks and exam transparency. This is not the first time NBE has faced criticism. However, NBEMS announced that it would upload the response sheet along with answer keys and questions; however, it later swiftly notified that it would only publish question IDs. 

MCC conducts four rounds of AIQ counselling, including a stray vacancy round for NEET PG 2025 qualified candidates. During the NEET PG counselling process 2025, candidates have to register, pay fees, and fill in their preferences for college and courses. Based on the choices filled, rank, and seat availability, candidates will be allotted seats. 

Earlier, SC proposed atleast 10 changes in NEET PG counselling 2025, which included publishing the NEET PG raw scores, answer key, and normalisation method to ensure exam transparency. This also included penalties for seat blocking, forfeiture of the security deposit, and disqualification from future NEET PG exams for repeat offenders.
