The National Board of Examinations for Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has announced that it will activate the link to download the NEET PG 2025 scorecard on August 29. Concerned candidates will be able to download the NEET PG 2025 scorecards through the NBEMS's official website at natboard.edu.in. Notably, the scorecards will be there for download upto next 6 months.

After the NBEMS announced to release of the provisional NEET PG 2025 answer key, candidates raised concerns about its limited information. Currently, only question IDs are provided, without the full text of the questions. Students argued that this makes it impossible to accurately match their responses with the official key, verify their scores, and estimate ranks. A candidate said, "We need the full questions, not just question IDs, in the NEET PG 2025 answer key! IDs alone don’t help us match our declared results with our efforts. The authorities should release the complete questions for transparency."

The NBEMS will soon release the NEET PG 2025 answer key along with candidates’ response sheets. The information will be made available on an online portal currently under development. "In compliance with the above-referred directions, NBEMS shall publish the answer key of NEET-PG 2025 on its website. Along with the correct answer key, the responses marked by the candidates to the respective questions asked in NEET-PG 2025 shall also be published. The score given for each of the questions as per the scheme of evaluation detailed in the Information Bulletin of NEET-PG 2025 shall be mentioned too," the official notice said.

Offering help to NEET PG 2025 qualified candidates in selecting branch for postgraduate medical course, a doctor named Shubhi Jain said in a post, "Ianyone has any query regarding branch selection, especially for ophthalmology can contact me. You can also discuss for other branches."

The NEET PG qualifying criteria says that candidates belonging to general and Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) with 276 marks at 50th percentile will be deemed eligible.

This year, the general-PwBD cut-off was at 45th percentile with 255 marks and for SC, ST, OBC candidates, the cut-off was at 40th percentile with 235 marks for the All India Quota Counselling.

The NBEMS has announced that it is in the process of developing online portal for downloading NEET PG answer key. Candidates can expect the official key soon on the index page of the website, it said.

The NEET PG cut-off marks 2025 dropped from 291 in 2023 to 276 for general category, from 274 to 255 for general-PwBD, and from 257 to 235 for SC, ST, OBC, including PwBD candidates. 

The NBE did not announce the NEET PG cut-off marks last year as the board had to use a normalisation method to convert scores into percentile after conducting the exam in two shifts - a move widely opposed by aspirants and doctors alike.  

The Union ministry of health and family welfare had announced earlier that the NEET PG seats have been increased from 31,185 before 2014 to 74,306 as of now. 

National Medical Commission chief Dr Abhijat Sheth told the PTI that the NEET PG and UG seats are expected to see a cumulative increase of around 8,000 seats.

Until last year, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) did not publish the NEET PG answer key, citing concerns of possible misuse of exam content. However, the board has announced that it will upload the NEET PG answer key and response sheet for the first time, following the Supreme Court order to ensure greater transparency in the national-level exam. 

The NEET PG scorecard 2025 will have details of aggregate marks in all MBBS professional exams or the marks obtained in the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) as provided by candidates in the application form. These marks have been used by the NBEMS to break the tie of NEET PG ranks, it said. 

However, if the information provided in the NEET PG form is found to be incorrect at any point, the candidature for NEET PG shall be cancelled, the NBE said. 

NEET PG exam date 2026 has not been announced officially. However, the NBEMS is expected to begin the registration in March and exam in June-August, as per past trends. 

The NBEMS will issue the individual NEET PG 2025 scorecard on the official website, natboard.edu.in on or after August 29. It also informed candidates that the NEET PG scorecard download link will be available only for a period of 6 months from the date of issuance.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is expected to announce the NEET PG 2025 counselling dates soon on the official website, mcc.nic.in. Now that the NBEMS NEET PG results are declared and the answer key is awaited, the counselling schedule for admission is also likely to be notified for timely conduct of admission process.

Hailing NBEMS’ decision, the All India Students Dental Association wrote on X: “The impossible turned possible even before the Supreme Court’s next hearing on the petition for publishing the NEET PG answer key and ensuring transparency.”

MD Radiodiagnosis has been the most sought-after course among the NEET PG aspirants. Dermatology, General Medicine, and Paediatrics courses are also among the top picks of rank holders. 

Last year’s NEET PG toppers - AIR 1 Aarushi Narwani and AIR 3 Rupesh – opted for MD Radiodiagnosis at Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC), New Delhi. NEET PG toppers also choose leading institutes like AIIMS, PGI Chandigarh, Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) and JIPMER.

Admission to MD, MS, PG diploma, DNB, DrNB direct 6-year courses will be based on NEET PG 2025 scores. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts the NEET PG counselling 2025 for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats and the remaining 50% is filled by state counselling committees.
