NEW DELHI: The National Eligibility Entrance Test - Postgraduate (NEET PG) counselling 2024 will commence by November 11, said the Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA). The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will announce the NEET PG 2024 counselling schedule on the official website, mcc.nic.in.
While sharing the update, the doctors’ body flagged challenges in the conduct of NEET PG 2025 and expressed disappointment over delay in the admission process. “NEET PG 2024 counselling to begin latest by 11th of November. The 4 month delay makes the timeline for #2025 challenging. The vicious cycle continues for the 3rd year straight. Will this ever end?,” the association said in a post on X.
In another update, the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) president Survankar Datta stated that the authorities are not waiting for NEET PG Supreme Court hearing and NEET PG counselling schedule 2024 will be issued soon. The top court briefly heard the matter on October 25 and postponed it for a further date.
“NEET PG Counselling schedule will be put up soon, and recent issues preventing release of schedule have been resolved. They are not waiting for the next Supreme Court hearing. Hope this offers some relief! The confirmation is from a very reliable source. Few of you may already be aware. Kindly stay tuned for official announcements from their official website for the exact timeline and avoid speculations/hearsay,” wrote FAIMA president in a post while alerting about fake news.
The AIIMS doctor had earlier opined that there are issues with the commencement of NEET PG counselling with the petitioners seeking transparency and states wanting release of scores.
In a virtual meeting of the National Medical Commission (NMC), the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS), the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), and state counselling authorities, it has been decided that NBEMS will help states prepare merit lists of candidates. Haryana and Goa will prepare their own NEET PG 2024 rank lists.
The decision comes as a rescue to the state councils which have been struggling to provide state-specific incentive marks to the in-service candidates to prepare ranks, following a change in the NEET PG 2024 exam pattern.
NBEMS recommended the state authorities to implement One-Time Registration (OTR) for all rounds of counselling and to complete the registration process by November 5. States have been further asked to submit the lists of eligible candidates by November 6. The board will then provide the merit lists within a week.
