MCC will forfeit the security deposit paid by the candidates for NEET PG counselling 2025 under the following cases: 

• If a candidate has been allotted a seat in round 2 or subsequent rounds (round 3, stray vacancy/further rounds) and does not report or join at the allotted college to complete the admission process.
• If the admission gets cancelled after allotment due to any reason, for instance, in case the candidate gives wrong information at the time of registration on the basis of which a seat may be allotted and later cancelled by the admission authorities at the time of reporting or fails to produce the required documents at the time of admission.

The Selection Committee of the Directorate of Medical Education and Research has released a list of 570 in-service doctors granted incentive marks for postgraduate medical admissions under the government quota through Tamil Nadu NEET PG 2025 counselling.

According to the official notification, the incentive marks were determined based on the duration of service in government postings, with a maximum of 30% marks awarded in accordance with MCI regulations.

However, if the candidate forgets to lock the choices filled, they will be locked automatically.

• Candidates must verify the choices locked, as the NEET PG seat allotment will be done based on the choices filled.
• Take printouts of their filled choices for future reference.

As per the MCC NEET PG counselling 2025, the round 1 registration will close on November 5, and the choice filling process has begun today.

MCC NEET PG 2025 counselling dates out for AIQ seats ahead of SC hearing; round 1 choice filling begins

The MCC NEET PG counselling schedule 2025 for round 2 is given below.  

MCC has announced the NEET PG Counselling 2025 schedule for all rounds. The counselling dates for round 1 admissions are as follows.

NEET PG seat allotment under the NRI quota will be carried out on a priority basis. NRI candidates and children of NRIs will receive the highest priority, followed by candidates in Priority 2 and subsequent categories in order.

The Supreme Court is set to hear multiple petitions seeking greater transparency in the NEET PG 2025 examination. While aspirants have raised concerns over significant score discrepancies, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has declined to release the complete set of NEET PG 2025 questions.

Candidates allotted seats in medical colleges through NEET PG counselling must sign a mandatory bond agreement. In the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS), the bond amount has been raised to Rs 59 lakh, up from Rs 57.5 lakh last year.

Candidates who discontinue their course midway will incur a penalty of Rs 19.66 lakh for each incomplete academic year. Additionally, those who leave AFMS service before fulfilling the mandatory five-year bond requirement will be fined Rs 11.8 lakh.

The SC will hear all the pleas releated to NEET PG 2025 transparency, seeking access to full questions along with the official answer key.

The list of required documents for submission under NRI category for NEET PG counselling are as follows.

MCC will accept applications from candidates under NRI quota in the NEET PG counselling 2025 till today. Candidates under the non-resident Indian (NRI) category are required to send the NRI documents through the email ID- nri.adgmemcc1@gmail.com – by 12 noon today.

From the academic year 2025–26, medical colleges in Delhi have implemented a one-year mandatory bond service for both MBBS and postgraduate students. According to the 2025 admission brochure of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, all MBBS and PG students must complete a one-year bond service upon finishing their course, which includes the internship period.

The Jammu and Kashmir Medical Council has announced that the Union Territory’s Health and Medical Education Department plans to introduce a mandatory service bond for MD and MS graduates. Under the proposed policy, postgraduate medical students will be required to sign a bond worth Rs 50 lakh at the time of admission. After completing their courses, they will be obligated to serve for two years in designated hospitals.

A survey conducted by FAIMA among students, teachers, and doctors in medical colleges has highlighted alarming conditions faced by MBBS and PG residents. According to the findings, about 73.9% of medical students reported being burdened with excessive clerical work, while over 40% described their work environment as toxic. Additionally, only half of the respondents stated that they receive their stipends on time.

BFUHS Faridkot has informed NEET PG 2025 candidates that fee payments for seats at Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Bathinda will remain subject to interim Punjab and Haryana High Court order.

NMC has approved 49,907 postgraduate medical seats for NEET PG counselling 2025, along with 2,337 newly added seats for the new academic session.

The NMC has approved 2,337 new postgraduate medical seats for NEET PG 2025 counselling, increasing the total number of seats to 52,244 for the academic year 2025-26. Karnataka has recorded the highest addition with 422 new seats. The updated seat matrix, released by the Gujarat Admission Committee for Professional Post Graduate Medical Courses (ACPPGMEC), includes both government and private medical institutions across states. Earlier, the total PG medical seat count stood at 49,907.

Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU) has started the Himachal Pradesh NEET PG 2025 counselling registration for admission to MD, MS, and DNB programmes. Eligible candidates can apply online at amruhp.ac.in. The counselling will be held in four rounds, and the last date for registration will be announced separately.

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved 49,907 postgraduate medical seats for NEET PG counselling 2025, along with 2,337 newly added seats for the 2025–26 academic session. Gujarat, which began its state counselling ahead of others, has already released the NMC-approved seat matrix. The final seat matrix for the All India Quota (AIQ) and other states will be published on the MCC official website, mcc.nic.in.

Any incomplete or delayed submission will not be considered for NRI seat conversion.

The Rajasthan government has directed all private medical colleges to follow the approved fee structure and warned of strict action in case of any violation of rules. Medical education secretary said the move follows complaints about some colleges charging extra fees by promoting 15% seats as "management quota" without approval.

A PG candidate flagged seat blocking issue in NEET PG counselling and said that the admission process is tougher than the exam itself. "I will just want to add something important too. PG counselling is even more tough than giving NEET PG or INI CET. Reservation and non synchronisation of state PG counselling leads to massive seat blocking in AIQ. I myself is the victim of that. On top, there is scam," he said in a comment to a post on X. 

The Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC) mandates one-year service bond for All India Quota (AIQ) and state quota postgraduate medical students after completion of their course wherein postgraduates would be required to serve in the medical institutions for a period of one year.

Under the Kerala NEET PG 2025 bond policy, candidates admitted to postgraduate medical courses must execute two bonds on Rs. 200 stamp paper at the time of joining. These bonds ensure that the candidates serve as senior residents for one year. If a student discontinues the course or withdraws at any stage, both the student and their guarantors are legally required to repay the government for the expenses incurred, along with a fixed penalty of Rs. 50 lakh.

FORDA said hospitals are currently functioning with only two resident batches, leading to excessive workload and affecting patient care. Resident doctors form the core of hospital services, handling emergency, OPD, and operation theatres while pursuing postgraduate training. NEET PG 2025 results were declared on August 19, but the final seat matrix for counselling is yet to be released. 

The Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association India (FORDA) has written to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare seeking immediate intervention in the NEET PG 2025 counselling delay. The association highlighted that hospitals are facing acute shortage of resident doctors due to the prolonged uncertainty.

The NEET PG seat allotment 2025 will be done based on the priority-based system. NRI candidates and children of NRIs will be given the top priority, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) clarified. Candidates claiming the NRI quota are required to submit the relevant documents before October 28. 

The allotment process will be carried out in sequential order, giving preference to Priority 1 candidates first, followed by Priority 2 candidates, subject to seat availability.

The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot (BFUHS) has informed Punjab NEET PG aspirants that the final fee structure at Adesh Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Bathinda will be subject to the Punjab and Haryana High Court order.

As per the current fee structure, students admitted to MD and MS courses will have to pay Rs 14.9 lakh in the first year, Rs 16.39 lakh in the second year, and Rs 18.03 lakh in the third year, bringing the total tuition fee for the 3-year course to Rs 49.32 lakh. Additionally, candidates will be required to pay hostel, library, and other fees, taking the total to around Rs 52 lakh.

The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Madhya Pradesh has announced new rules for in-service candidates participating in the state-level counselling. Following last year's legal disputes and mark discrepancies, the officials have asked the in-service candidates to register under the open category. The DME MP will later verify the list of eligible candidates and update their category accordingly.

Over the past five years, the NEET PG qualifying cut-off marks for general category have increased by just one point, while the cut-off scores across other categories have shown a decrease. The NEET PG qualifying cut-off marks were not announced in 2024 as the NBEMS had adopted a normalisation method to calculate percentile since the exam was held in two shifts.  

Medical associations have been asked to join the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) in pushing for the immediate release of NEET PG counselling schedule 2025. "All medical associations are urged to join FAIMA’s efforts in pushing for the immediate start of NEET PG counselling. The delay is causing immense mental, financial & academic stress for aspirants and hospitals alike. Unity is strength — let’s act together!," said an X user. FORDA recently sought an update on the Supreme Court hearing as the NEET PG counselling dates have not been announced despite commencement of registrations. 

CEE Kerala has published the list of applicants who have deficiencies in their documents related to reservation categories on the official website, cee.kerala.gov.in. Candidates can check the "defective list" and rectify the shortcomings using their application number and password. The last date for uploading the required documents is October 27 till 5 pm. 

Once the registration window for NEET PG counselling 2025 is closed, the registered candidates who have paid the application fee will be required to fill choices of preferred courses and colleges participating in the counselling process. They will also have to lock their choices else the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will lock it automatically.

Candidates admitted in Karnataka medical colleges will have to sign a bond to serve one-year compulsory government service after completing their MBBS. Those allotted government or AIQ seats will have to undertake a three-year government hospital service bond  

At the time of admission, candidates should submit an undertaking stating that they will be liable to pay Rs 10 lakh for medical and dental degree and Rs 4 lakh for PG diploma as a penalty in case they decide to discontinue their course. 

The Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association India (FORDA) has urged the Union ministry of health and family welfare to intervene and expedite the NEET PG 2025 counselling process. Hospitals across India are currently operating with only two resident batches, “placing unsustainable pressure on the healthcare workforce and compromising patient care delivery", the letter addressed to the ministry read.

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) announced the admission rules for the KEA NEET PG 2025 counselling earlier this month. However, the complete schedule for the state quota seats has not been published yet due to the delay in releasing the MCC NEET PG counselling for All India Quota (AIQ) seats.

The Selection Committee of the Directorate of Medical Education and Research has declared 921 candidates ineligible for the Tamil Nadu NEET PG 2025 counselling due to multiple reasons. These candidates have been directed to submit the updated documents before October 23. 

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved a total of 2,337 new postgraduate medical seats for the academic year 2025, as per the NEET PG seat matrix 2025 published by the Gujarat medical counselling committee. In addition, there are 49,907 PG seats available across India. 

As per the NEET PG 2025 cut-offs, General and EWS category candidates with 276 marks at 50th percentile will be eligible for MD, MS, and PG Diploma admissions. The NEET PG cut-off for general category is lower than 291 in 2023, but slightly rose above 275 in 2022; by one mark. However, the highest NEET PG cut-off compared to this year was recorded at 302 in 2021.

Around 1.28 lakh candidates who qualified the NEET PG 2025 exam are still uncertain about their academic future as the MCC NEET PG counselling dates and the schedule for state quota seats have not yet been released. However, the registration process for All India Quota (AIQ) seats has commenced on the official website, mcc.nic.in.  

During the last hearing, the Supreme Court gave the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) two weeks to respond to a series of petitions filed by aspirants. The matter is likely to be taken up on October 28, as per the computer-generated date on the SC's official website.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has started the NEET PG counselling 2025 registration. Candidates seeking admission to 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats will have to register on the official website, mcc.nic.in. The complete schedule for the AIQ seats is expected to be uploaded soon.
