MCC removes 28 PG medical seats ahead of NEET PG 2025 round 3 processing

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has removed several postgraduate medical seats from the round 3 seat matrix for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) NEET PG counselling 2025.

As per MCC, it received updates from multiple medical colleges requesting the withdrawal of certain seats. These seats will be deleted from the NEET PG round 3 matrix before seat processing begins, and candidates have been asked to fill their choices carefully after reviewing the revised availability.

In total, 28 seats have been withdrawn from government medical colleges in Andhra Pradesh and from the Vardhman Institute of Medical Sciences, Nalanda (Bihar), across different specialities and categories.

The number of seats per college listed below will be removed from the NEET PG 2025 round 3 seat matrix before seat processing. NEET PG 2025 round 3 seat allotment processing is scheduled for January 27 to 28, 2026

NEET PG counselling and cut-offs

Candidates who clear NEET PG become eligible to take part in the counselling process. The MCC conducts counselling for admission to 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, along with seats in deemed and central universities. The remaining seats are filled through state-level counselling.

AIQ counselling is held in four stages: Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and the stray vacancy round.

As per the latest NBEMS update issued on January 13, the NEET PG 2025 cut-off has been revised downward. The updated cut-off marks are 103 for General, 90 for General-PwD, and 40 for SC,ST,OBC (including PwD). Earlier, the cut-offs were much higher—276 for General, 255 for General-PwD, and 235 for SC,ST,OBC.
