The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) recently extended the deadline to submit choices of courses and colleges to October 16 up to 4 pm. The last date to fill choices for round 3 may be extended due to the addition of seats, however, there is no official update yet from the MCC.

As per the revised dates, the NEET UG 2025 round 3 seat allotment is scheduled to be declared on October 18.

The latest update on the schedule is unclear as the MCC official website is down. Several candidates who are awaiting NEET PG counselling dates 2025 also speculate that the officials may be updating the website to announce the admission schedule and brochure.

In an urgent notice issued on October 15, the MCC informed candidates about the addition of 58 MBBS seats in the third round of counselling.

Of the total, 8 All India Quota (AIQ) seats were added at Maharaja Jitendra Narayan Medical College, Coochbehar and 43 paid seats and 7 NRI seats at Sri Siddhartha Medical College DU, Tumkur.

For the third round, 363 candidates have been declared eligible for admission under the NRI quota.

A total of 11,500 new seats have been granted in 2025-26, excluding AIIMS and JIPMER. Last year, there were 1,17,750 seats, however, the count has increased to 1,29,025 with the approval for establishment of new medical colleges and seats.
