NIOS students eligible for NEET UG 2025, NTA following regulations, clarifies NMC

Download EBookNEW DELHI : The National Medical Commission (NMC) has clarified that candidates who studied from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) are eligible to apply for the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2025. The clarification comes after a confusion over the NEET UG information bulletin 2025 and a Right to Information (RTI) application sought clarity on whether NIOS and additional subject taken during study are valid.
The medical commission clarified that it has provided the response to the NEET 2025 applicant who sought reply regarding the NEET UG eligibility criteria 2025.
“It has come to the notice that a confusion has been created stating that National Testing Agency (NTA) has issued NEET-UG Bulletin 2025 , which is not as per NMC Regulations . In this regard, it is to clarify that the reply has been furnished to the applicant who seeks reply in regard to studying through National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS)/ State Open Schools or Private candidate,” said NMC in a statement.

“In view of the above, it is seen that NTA is following the Regulations notified from the time to time by National Medical Commission,” NMC added.
