The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced an order of priority for the allotment of MBBS, BDS seats to the registered Non-Resident Indian (NRI) candidates in the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2025 counselling. Accordingly, the candidates who are themselves NRIs and the children of NRIs will get preference in the NEET UG seat allotment result 2025.

The first-degree and second-degree relatives of the NRI wards will be allotted NEET UG seats only after the first two categories have been allocated medical and dental colleges. NRI category candidates and children of NRIs have been put under priority 1 while the first-degree relatives and second-degree relatives have been placed under priority 2 in the priority system.

“The allotment process will be carried out in sequential order, giving preference to Priority 1 candidates first, followed by Priority 2 candidates, subject to seat availability,” said MCC in the latest notification.

The counselling committee has also issued the list of candidates who have been found eligible for NRI quota under NEET UG counselling 2025 after the scrutiny of the documents provided by the candidates.

However, MCC advised the MBBS aspirants to keep all the documents ready for admissions. “The list is provisional and Candidates are advised to ensure that all required original documents (proof of NRI status, relationship certificates, etc.) are submitted correctly at the time of reporting at the allotted medical college and in case there is deficiency of documents, the college can cancel the seat allotment,” it added.

Recently, the counselling committee informed that the candidates who applied for Embassy Certificate, NRI certificate by missions, or posts abroad as per MEA press release and have got embassy certificates endorsed or stamped by the embassy will be considered for seats reserved for NRIs.

MCC NEET UG counselling schedule 2025 revised

The NEET UG 2025 counselling schedule has been revised and the NEET UG round 1 seat allotment result 2025 will now be published on August 9. The last date for choice-filling and registration was extended.

MCC put NEET UG 2025 choice-filling on hold and announced a revision in the schedule in view of representations made by the NRI and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) candidates and pending court cases.
