NIFT spot round counselling 2026 registration starts at nift.admissions.nic.in; how to register, eligibility

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has started the registration process for the NIFT spot round counselling 2026 on the official website of NIFT at nift.admissions.nic.in. The last date to register for this counselling is July 22, 2026. The seat allotment result for this round will be out on July 24, 2026.

This round is conducted to fill any vacant seats left after the NIFT 2026 counselling. The seat allotment in NIFT spot round counselling 2026 will be based on the rank in NIFT 2026 and the college preferences given by applicants. To confirm the admission, allotted aspirants are required to report to the campus.

The documents verification for new registered applicants will be done from July 19 to 22, 2026 upto 6 pm. Applicants can choose/ modify and lock their preference from July 19-23, 2026 (upto 12 midnight). The admission fee payment will be done from July 24-27, 2026 (upto midnight). The physical reporting at allotted NIFT campus on July 29, 2026.

To register for the NIFT spot round counselling 2026, applicants can follow the steps given below:

• Visit the official website of NIFT at nift.admissions.nic.in
• Register using the NIFT 2026 common merit rank (CMR) credentials
• Pay the registration fee, fill out the campus and programme choices for available vacant seats
• Lock the choices before the deadline

NIFT Spot Round Counselling 2026: Eligibility

All eligible NIFT 2026 candidates who have secured valid common merit rank (CMR) can apply for NIFT 2026 counselling spot round. This includes candidates who have been allotted seats in rounds 1-3 and paid the fee but not allotted seats, candidates not allotted seats, candidates who have paid the admission fee but did not get seat allocation in rounds 1-3 and candidates who withdrew in the previous rounds of seat allotment.

Those candidates who had a valid CMR without registering for seat allotment or failed to fill the choices or did not upload the required documents during the registration are also eligible to participate. Further, all eligible candidates who have cleared the CMR under the NLEA (lateral entry admission) category are eligible for applying for the spot round.
