NIOS postpones November 6 Class 10, 12 exams across India due to Bihar assembly elections; new dates soon

NIOS Class 10, 12 Exam 2025: The postponed papers include Physics, History, Environmental Science, and Library and Information Science for Class 12, and Painting for Class 10.
The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has postponed the NIOS Class 10, 12 exam scheduled for today, November 6, 2025, across India due to the Bihar Assembly Elections and related administrative and logistical reasons.
According to the official notification, the NIOS Class 12 exams 2025 for Physics (312), History (315), Environmental Science (333), and Library and Information Science (339) have been postponed. The NIOS Class 10 exam for Painting (225) has also been postponed.
NIOS states that the new exam dates for these subjects will be announced shortly. However, the institute confirmed that exam at overseas centres will be held as per the existing schedule.
“The new dates of examination in respect of these subjects will be intimated shortly. The examination in centres abroad will be conducted as per the schedule. All candidates appearing in NIOS Examinations are advised to keep visiting the official website of NIOS for the latest updates,” the official notice said.
The NIOS Class 10, 12 exams 2025 are scheduled to continue till November 18. The next Class 10 exam will be held tomorrow, November 7, for Science and Technology (212), while Class 12 students will appear for Data Entry Operations (Theory) (336) on the same day.
