NIT Rourkela Placement 2023: 24 students get over Rs 50 lakh, highest ever at the institute

NIT Rourkela Placements 2022-23: Three international offers were made by Landmark Group. The average salary also saw a increase of more than 16%.
NEW DELHI: National Institute of Technology, Rourkela (NIT Rourkela) received the highest number of 1,534 job offers from 330 companies during campus placements for the academic year 2022-23. As per the official announcement, more than 95% of the students from the flagship BTech programmes were placed.
As per the NIT Rourkela placement package, 24 students were offered a salary package of more than Rs 50 lakh per annum (LPA). Of which eight got the highest offer of Rs. 52.89 LPA. The average cost-to-company (CTC) also saw a jump from Rs 11.15 LPA in 2021-2022 to Rs 12.95 LPA in 2022-2023 achieving an increase of more than 16%. The average CTC of BTech is Rs.14.22 LPA. A total of 3 international offers were made from Landmark Group.
The institute said that BTech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering and Ceramic Engineering as well as Dual Degree in Mining Engineering and Ceramic Engineering recorded 100% placement of registered students.
More than 350 internship offers were made with the highest stipend at Rs.1.5 lakh per month.

NIT Rourkela Placement 2023: Top recruiters
Software and IT Services has emerged as the top recruiter with 31.1% of total recruitment. The top recruiters include Microsoft, Amazon, and AWS, Hotstar, SAP Labs, etc. Here are the top 10 recruiters as per the number of jobs offered.

NIT Rourkela Placement: Salary package
As per this year’s placement updates, the computer science department received an average CTC of Rs 21.87 LPA and the average CTC of electronics and instrumentation engineering was at Rs 18.12 LPA. Whereas, the average CTC for electronics and communication was Rs. 17.97 LPA. The electrical department was at Rs 14.55 LPA.
More than 80% of the registered students from the Integrated MSc course got job offers, which is a significant 51% increase in offers compared to the previous year. Moreover, the postgraduate programmes also saw an increase in offers with 96.22% students placed in the Department of Electronics and Communication followed by 90% in Department of Industrial Design.
