The National Medical Commission (NMC) has asked the medical colleges to update faculty details and disclose fee structure and stipend paid to interns on their official websites. The commission has asked colleges to update the faculty list by 5th of every month.

In case of non-compliance of rules, the commission warned medical colleges of show-cause notice, imposition of financial penalties, withdrawal of course recognition, and suspension of admissions.

As per NMC, the colleges are required to list the faculty details separately under each department. “If the medical superintendent, principal, or dean belongs to any department, they should also be included under the respective section,” the commission clarified.

NMC again warned colleges of penal action against the concerned medical institutions, in case of non-disclosure or inaccurate disclosure of faculty details.

Fee, stipend in medical colleges

The commission has provided colleges with a Google form link through which institutions have to submit the complete course-wise fee structure and details regarding stipend payment to MBBS interns, junior residents, senior residents, etc.

“In pursuance of ensuring transparency and protecting students from hidden or arbitrary fee demands, as well as addressing concerns regarding non-payment of stipends, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has taken various measures in line with existing regulations and judicial mandates,” NMC said.
