Parul University hosts Spanish delegates; interacts with 12 student-led startups

The selection of the university as the incubation centre of Gujrat reflects its efforts in developing an ecosystem where innovation thrives, as evidenced by the NIRF Ranking 2024.

NEW DELHI: Parul University recently hosted a collaborative event attended by Begoña Gómez, the wife of the Prime Minister of Spain, Pedro Sanchez. During her visit, she engaged with 12 innovative student-led startups of the university. Begoña Gómez, who is on India tour, is a part of the delegation hosted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

She toured the university’s incubation hub and interacted with other dignitaries of the university to understand the startup ecosystem and entrepreneurship networking of Gujarat.

Begoña Gómez was welcomed by the University’s president, Devanshu Patel along with host of deans, faculty members, and students from across various programmes. Her interaction is a testament to the University’s commitment to foster an environment where creativity, knowledge, and business growth flourish, the official Parul University statement said.

Devanshu Patel, the president of Parul University said: “It is a moment of immense pride for Parul University to be recognized on a global scale. Her excellency’s visit has strengthened our resolve to support our students in their pursuit of entrepreneurial excellence. This interaction has opened doors for collaborative endeavors with Spain in the future.”

Parul University as incubation center of Gujarat

The university was appointed as the incubation centers of Gujarat by the ministry of external affairs of Spain. The selection of the university marks its efforts to foster innovation and entrepreneurship which is reflected in the rank 11-50 in Innovation conferred by the NIRF Ranking 2024 - surpassing other institutions such as IITs, IIMs, and other B-schools in the country.

The university has also been conferred with a 4/4 star rating by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell, GoI for three consecutive years.

Begoña Gómez took a tour of the incubation center, which provides entrepreneurs with mentorship, funding opportunities, and other market launch essentials for startups.

The incubation center is a part of the Parul Innovation and Entrepreneurship Research Center (PIERC) and has launched more than 200+ student-led startups and brought them to remarkable success.

Her visit included interaction with the founders and co-founders of 12 innovation student-led startups including – Galanto Innovations, Medref Healthbridge, Yield Earth Pro Pvt. Ltd., Dr. Cardio, Dori Handicrafts, PlanPact Innovations Pvt. Ltd., Cligent, Vcare Ostomy, CareKali, Indiesemic Pvt. Ltd., Ecorrect Pvt. Ltd. and CareBotech.

The university also has its startup accelerator centres spread across the prominent cities in Gujarat - including Ahmedabad, Rajkot, and Surat.
