PUMDET 2025 registration begins at wbjeeb.nic.in/pumdet/; exam on August 24

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) has begun the registration process for the Presidency University Master's Degree Entrance Test (PUMDET) 2025 today, August 8. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online through the official PUMDET portal at wbjeeb.nic.in/pumdet/.

As per the official schedule, the last date to register for the PUMDET 2025 exam and pay the registration fee is August 11. Candidates will be able to make corrections and download the revised confirmation page on August 12, 2025.

The PUMDET 2025 entrance exam is scheduled to be held on August 24, 2025. PUMDET serves as the qualifying examination for admission to various postgraduate courses, including Master of Arts (MA) and Master of Science (MSc) programmes, at Presidency University for the academic session 2025–26. The exam will be conducted in a single shift from 2 pm to 3:30 pm. The admit cards for the PUMDET exam 2025 can be downloaded from August 19 to 24.

To register for the PUMDET 2025 exam, candidates from all categories are required to pay an application fee of Rs 500. During form-filling process, candidates are required to upload recent colour photographs in JPG or JPEG format, with a file size between 10 KB and 200 KB, along with their signatures in JPG or JPEG format, sized between 4 KB and 30 KB.

PUMDET 2025 Exam: Eligibility criteria

To be eligible for the exam, candidates should have passed graduation with Honours or Major in the relevant subject, as specified, from any recognised university or institute in India. There is no upper or lower age limit for applicants. Eligibility criteria for admission under open quota (Non-PU Quota) seats is given below:

  • Candidates should have passed their BA (Hons/Major) or BSc (Hons/Major) examination in 2024 or later, or appeared for the examination in 2025 from any recognised university.
  • Candidates who have received their final results before counselling must present original mark sheets or grade cards of all semester or annual examinations at the Bachelor’s level and fulfil the academic eligibility criteria for their chosen courses.
  • Candidates who have appeared for their final BA (Hons/Major) or BSc (Hons/Major) examinations but do not have final results at the time of counselling will be provisionally admitted. They will have to submit mark sheets or grade cards of all previous semesters or annual examinations at the Bachelor’s level. Final results must be submitted within three weeks of provisional admission; failure to do so will lead to cancellation of admission.
  • Candidates should meet the minimum required percentage of marks or CGPA in their Honours or Major subject as per the eligibility table for their Bachelor’s degree.
