Punjab MBBS fee 2025 for NRI quota set at 110,000 USD; NEET UG counselling on hold over AIQ result

The Baba Farid University of Health Sciences (BFUHS) has announced the MBBS, BDS fee structure 2025 for the Non-Resident Indian (NRI) candidates applying for the Punjab NEET UG counselling 2025, as per the government orders. The total MBBS fee for NRI quota has been fixed at 110,000 USD while the BDS fee has been capped at 44,000 USD. Students will have the flexibility to pay the amount in lump sum or three installments at the time of admissions in medical and dental colleges.

78 NRI candidates were found eligible for Punjab NEET UG 2025 counselling. 15% seats in all private colleges or Guru Gobind Singh Medical College, Faridkot; 13 seats each in Government Medical College, Patiala and Amritsar; three seats in Government Dental College, Amritsar; and four seats in Government Dental College, Patiala are earmarked for NRI aspirants.

In the latest update, the counselling authorities informed that the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2025 counselling has been kept on hold and the first round seat allotment will be declared only after the declaration of All India Quota (AIQ) result by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The announcement came before the MCC NEET UG seat allotment result 2025 as the state was awaiting the central counselling results.

Punjab NEET UG round 1 counselling schedule will be announced accordingly, added BFUHS and advised candidates to look for updates on the official website, bfuhs.ac.in.

The provisional MBBS, BDS seat allotment was already published on August 6 for 85% state quota seats and aspirants were asked to raise objections, if any, by August 8.

Punjab MBBS fee 2025 was revised for private medical colleges while the Punjab and Haryana High Court allowed a university to charge management quota fee for 50% government quota seats. This came even after several doctors, aspirants, and healthcare advocates protested against the MBBS fee hike and a new two-year MBBS bond.
