Punjab schools closed till January 13 due to cold wave, dense fog; other state holidays

Punjab Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann has announced holidays for all private and government schools due to cold weather and dense fog, prioritising the safety of students.

Punjab chief minister S Bhagwant Singh Mann has announced holidays for all private and government schools due to cold weather conditions and dense fog in the state. All schools shall remain closed till January 13, keeping the health and safety of students in mind.

Recently, the Jharkhand School Education and Literacy Department has also announced that all government, government-aided, unaided (including minority), and private schools across the state will remain shut till January 8.

The order applies to students from pre-nursery through Class 12, and regular academic activities will remain suspended during this period.

Tripura school holidays

Similarly, in Tripura, Chief Minister Manik Saha also announced that all schools will remain closed until January 10 due to extreme cold. As per an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Agartala centre, the northeastern state has been under a cold wave over the past week, with the minimum temperature down to 6 degrees Celsius from the normal temperature.

Rajasthan schools closed till January 10

The District Collector and District Magistrate of Jaipur have declared holidays for students due to prevailing conditions. Students from pre-primary to Class 5 will remain on leave from January 6 to January 10, while students from Class 6 to Class 8 will have holidays from January 6 to January 8.

Teachers are required to report to schools as usual, and all examinations will be conducted as per the existing schedule
