Students and parents criticised CBSE's new rule removing the additional subjects option for private, droppers, and self-study students, saying the 'lack of flexibility disrupted their academic plan'.
"If a student does not attend school, his/her internal assessment cannot be done. In the absence of performance in internal assessment, a student's result cannot be declared," the CBSE said.
Board Exams 2026: CBSE released the form for private candidates, but students can no longer choose additional subjects they didn't opt for in Class 12, leaving them in a state of uncertainty.
