Meghalaya education minister said that the Supreme Court order will affect over 32,000 teachers.
During his visit to Solan district, CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu inaugurated and laid foundation stones for development projects worth Rs 27.43 crore, including a day boarding school, solar plant, and healthcare facilities.
The teacher, identified as Reena Rathore, allegedly assaulted the student inside her office. The incident came to light after a video of the act surfaced on social media, prompting action from the education department.
Eligible candidates can apply for Telangana IPE March 2026 at tsbie.cgg.gov.in with the required documents. The exemption fee is Rs 500, and applications can be submitted till November 17, 2025, or till November 29 with late fee.
The state informed the court that an advisory panel has been formed to examine complaints on school fees, uniforms, and related charges; parents can file grievances directly with the committee for redressal.
Schools will remain closed in Konaseema and Eluru districts on October 28 and 29. Kakinada administration has also declared holiday for schools on October 27 to 31.
Over 20,800 teachers are posted in schools with zero students, with Telangana and Madhya Pradesh following West Bengal. Several states have merged schools to optimise resources, while UP plans to derecognise institutions that remain persistently empty.

Officers at the panchayat and urban cluster levels have also been asked to inspect two schools each under their jurisdiction, about 22,500 schools in all, and submit reports to district education officers.
