School Closed Today LIVE: Jammu, Punjab schools shut amid heavy rainfall; state-wise holidays

In Rajasthan, Jaipur district announced a holiday for all schools and Anganwadi centres till August 26 following a red alert regarding rainfall. From pre-primary to Class 12 remained closed in government as well as private schools.

As per the media reports, the JKBOSE has postponed the class 10, 11 exams for today. Students were advised to wait until the fresh dates are announced.

The government of Uttarakhand has announced that schools and colleges in the Chamoli district will be remain closed till August 27 due to torrential rains.

As per various media reports, Kerala government has closed schools starting from today, August 27, for Onam celebrations. All schools will be closed for a period of 10 days and the classes will start on September 8.

The Maharashtra has declared holidays in all schools in view of Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations. While, several other states including Jammu, Punjab, Himachal are experiencing school closure due to incessant rainfall.

According to several media reports, many state and local governments have declared holidays in different regions in the country due to torrential rain, flood risks, and ongoing regional celebrations.

Amid the school closure announcement in Himachal Pradesh due to torrential rains and floods, several river-side hotels have been washed away by the flowing river. The IMD has issued red alert for Jammu, Himachal, Punjab, Kerala, and many other regions in India.

As per several media reports, schools in Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh have been closed due to the Ganesh Chaturthi festival. Earlier, it was observed that the Hindu festival was on August 26, however, many state governments have announced it on August 27.

Himachal Pradesh government has announced closure of all schools in the state due to red alert issued by the Indian Meteorological Department, as per th various media reports. 

Due to incessant rainfall, schools in several states across the country have been closed. Punjab, Jammu, Uttarakhand, Himachal, including several parts of the country has observed heavy to very heavy rain, prompting the authorities to shut all the schools for the safety of students.

Karnataka schools are closed today in view of Ganesh Chaturthi festival. A school shared the news on social media and said, "school holiday due to Gowri Ganesha festival."

The Directorate of School Education, Jammu issued an official order announcing closure of all schools in the Jammu division in view of the weather conditions. 

Jammu schools closed today. 

Gujarat schools are also closed today, August 27, on account of Samvatsari, as per some media reports. 

While the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert in Delhi as rains lashed the national capital, there is no official order on school closure. 

Kerala government has announced holiday in all schools starting from today, August 27, for Onam celebrations. All schools will be closed for a period of 10 days and the classes will start on September 8, as per media reports.

Jammu and Kashmir has announced school closure in view of rain. The Directorate of School Education declared holidays in all government and private schools in Jammu.
