As per the official notice, the SSC CGL 2025 Tier-I exam is scheduled from September 12 to 26. The Commission has not yet announced the exam timings or shifts. Recently, SSC Chairman S. Gopalakrishnan stated in an interview that the exam is likely to be conducted in a single shift; however, the Commission has not issued any official confirmation on this.

SSC CGL Tier 1 Exam 2025: Centres to be allotted within 100 km

Initially, the SSC CGL 2025 Tier-I exam was scheduled to be held from August 13. However, it was postponed due to technical difficulties reported during other SSC examinations, including SSC Selection Post Phase 13 and Stenographer exams. Candidates had faced issues such as server crashes, system malfunctions, and allotment of distant exam centres.

Addressing concerns over the distance of exam centres, the SSC Chairman stated that candidates will now be allotted centres within a 100-kilometre radius of their location to reduce travel difficulties. The commission will issue the SSC CGL city slip and admit card soon on the official website at ssc.gov.in.

This year, the SSC recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 14,582 vacancies. Out of these, 6,183 are reserved for Unreserved (UR) candidates, 3,721 for Other Backwards Classes (OBC), 2,167 for Scheduled Castes (SC), 1,088 for Scheduled Tribes (ST), and 1,423 for Economically Weaker Section (EWS) candidates.

Discontinuation of “Own Scribe” facility in SSC CGL 2025

Earlier today, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) issued a notice revising its scribe policy for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). The long-standing “own scribe” facility has been discontinued and candidates will now use scribes provided by the commission or technological aids.

The notice states that the revised scribe policy will apply to all examinations conducted by the Commission after its issue. Consequently, the new framework will be implemented for the SSC CGL 2025 Tier-I exam, scheduled from September 12 to 26, 2025.
