‘Human First, Tech Forward’: STTAR hosts Global Education Conference 2025

The Saamarthya Teachers Training Academy of Research (STTAR) hosted the STTAR Global Education Conference 2025 at Dr Ambedkar International Centre, New Delhi, on September 27. The conference was hosted with the theme “Human First, Tech Forward – The New Balance in Education,” with Google for Education as the principal partner and brought together experts from academia and industry.

According to the official STTAR press release, the session was attended by TG Sitharam, the chairman of AICTE, as the chief guest, along with guests of honour, Biswajit Saha the director of CBSE, and Joseph Emmanuel, the chief executive and secretary of CISCE. The special guests from the industry included Sanjay Jain the head of Google for Education, India, and Raju Pullan the SVP of the MX Business, Samsung India.

“The conference attracted over 700 educators, counsellors, and industry experts from 18 Indian states, creating a vibrant platform of dialogue through panel discussions, masterclasses, and interactive sessions,” the official STTAR press release said.

The STTAR academy backed by the Jaipuria Group of Educational Institutions, and the global education conference reflected its commitment to thought leadership in education. The STTAR leadership was represented by Shishir Jaipuria the chairman of Jaipuria Group, Vinod Malhotra the chairman of STTAR, and Sushma Raturi, the CEO of STTAR.

Furthermore, the ‘Shiksha Garima Puraskar’ was conferred upon Sitharam, who stressed the need to use the full potential of AI without losing sight of the human touch and core education values. “My perspective is Human First and Human Last. Technology has to assist, not replace humans. In education, teachers have to work towards changing the way we assess students. Technology has facilitated learning in different Indian languages. That needs to be harnessed,” Sitharam said.

Additionally, the highlight of the day was the STTAR Excellence Awards, where Vrinda Sarup, the former secretary of School Education and Literacy, graced the occasion as the guest of honour. The Lifetime Achievement Award was conferred upon Shalini Advani, the School Advisor and Governing Body Member, Pathways Schools and NEASC.

The awards were presented in four categories — principals, teachers, Counsellors, and Schools — with winners hailing from diverse regions across the country, ranging from Jammu and Kashmir to Chennai, and from Gujarat to Nagaland, the official STTAR press release added.
