The National Testing Agency (NTA) has begun the registration process for the Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM) January 2026 semester exam. Candidates can submit their SWAYAM January 2026 application form through the official website at exams.nta.nic.in/swayam.
The last date to submit the SWAYAM January 2026 application form is May 11, while the deadline for fee payment via credit, debit card, net banking, or UPI is May 12, 2026.
To register for the SWAYAM 2026 January semester examination, candidates from the General category are required to pay an application fee of Rs 750 for the first course and Rs 600 for each additional course.
For candidates belonging to General-Economically Weaker Section (Gen-EWS), Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disability (PwD), Other Backward Classes – Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL), or Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) categories, the SWAYAM application fee is Rs 500 for the first course and Rs 400 for each additional course.
After the closure of the SWAYAM 2026 January semester online application process, the correction window will open from May 13 to May 15, 2026.
As per the schedule, the SWAYAM examination is conducted twice a year, corresponding to the January semester and the July semester. The SWAYAM January semester exam is scheduled to be held in hybrid mode on June 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21.
The SWAYAM exams covering 900 courses will be held in two shifts each day, with shift-1 from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and shift-2 from 3 pm to 6 pm.
Follow the instructions below to apply for the NTA SWAYAM January 2026 semester exam. Candidates can apply to take a maximum of 10 courses as per the schedule and shifts available.
The SWAYAM exams will be held for 900 courses in hybrid mode, including both computer-based tests (CBT) and pen-and-paper exams. The question papers will be in English, except for language subjects, which will be conducted in their respective languages.
