Eligible candidates can submit the application form for guest lecturers posts through the online portal at tngasa.org from September 24 to October 8, 2025.
A total of 881 guest lecturers will be appointed ‘temporarily’ in 38 departments of the Tamil Nadu government arts, science colleges for the academic year 2025-26. The announcement was made by Govi Chezhiaan, minister for higher education of Tamil Nadu.
Eligible candidates can submit the application form for such posts through the online portal at tngasa.org from September 24 to October 8, 2025.
The selection for the guest lecturers will be conducted on the basis of academic qualifications, face-to-face assessment, and interview performance, according to the official statement.
Earlier, to meet the growing demand in higher education, the government recruited 516 guest lecturers, and expanded over 15,000 new seats, courses, and 15 new colleges, the statement reads.
Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi, minister for school education, Tamil Nadu, said: ”Our Hon'ble Chief Minister, who has set a good example for India by introducing and implementing many first-of-its-kind schemes like “I am the first”, “Pudulamapsapan”, “Tamil Puthulen”, “Muthalamacherin Prakashthi Santhath Sadalaka.”
Over 15,000 additional seats and new courses have been created to ensure that the poor students can access higher education, the minister added. In addition, 15 new government arts and science colleges have been established to fill the higher education gap of the poor students.
“As it is not possible to immediately appoint permanent teachers in the vacant posts in the colleges, in order to avoid any disruption in the education of the students, an advertisement has been issued for the recruitment of temporary assistant lecturers for 574 posts, out of which 516 have been appointed temporarily,” the education minister said.
