The TN school education department said that the half-yearly exams will be conducted from December 11 as per the schedule announced earlier. “The exams for December 7 and 8 will be conducted on December 14 and 20," the Times of India reported.

As per the revised dates, the Class 12 language paper will be conducted on December 14 and English exam which was scheduled on December 8 will now be held on December 20.

Taking stock of the damage caused due to the cyclone, the Tamil Nadu chief minister MK Stalin has sought an interim relief of Rs 5,060 crore from the Centre. The northern districts of Chennai, Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram and Chengalpet are the worst hit regions in the cyclone.

“The floodwaters in Chennai's suburbs are still inundated. Many people are working in the field to ensure that everyone gets basic necessities like food and milk. We are continuing our field work with the hope that the situation will improve soon!,” the CM posted on X.

The school board has scheduled the half-yearly exams for Classes 6 to 11. The exams have not been postponed for these classes. The education department is expected to announce updates on the half yearly exams after reviewing the situation in the state.
