Telangana IPE March 2026: TGBIE allows private arts, humanities students to write exams without college study

The Telangana Government Board of Intermediate Education (TGBIE) has allowed private candidates from Arts and Humanities streams to appear for the Telangana Intermediate Public Examinations (IPE) March 2026 without college study. To appear for the Telangana IPE 2026 without college study, candidates will have to pay Rs 500 as an exemption fee.

Eligible candidates can submit their application form along with the exemption fee through the official website, tsbie.cgg.gov.in. The last date to pay the exemption fee and submit the application is November 17, 2025. Candidates who miss the deadline can apply with a late fee of Rs 200 till November 29, 2025.

Candidates will have to upload scanned copies of their SSC pass certificate, transfer certificate, and eligibility or migration certificate, where applicable. Applications sent by post or in person will not be accepted.

“The incomplete applications and applications received without enclosing original qualifying examination certificate(s), Transfer Certificate and Migration Certificate together with Eligibility Certificate in respect of candidates who have passed the qualifying examination other than S.S.C., of Telangana State will be rejected summarily without any further correspondence,” the official notice said.

The board has also clarified that practical and internal assessment tests for English under Part 1, based on the Practical Manual: A Handbook of Communicative English, will continue for both General and Vocational streams. The assessment was introduced from IPE March 2024 for first-year candidates and from IPE March 2025 for second-year candidates.

Telangana IPE March 2026: Eligibility criteria for exemption

Candidates applying as private candidates for the Telangana IPE March 2026 should fulfil the eligibility requirements specified by the Board. The detailed eligibility criteria are given below.

  • Candidates should have a gap of one year after passing SSC or its equivalent to appear for the 1st-year Intermediate in March 2026.
  • Candidates with a gap of two years or more after SSC are eligible to appear for both 1st and 2nd-year Intermediate exams in March 2026.
  • Second-year failed candidates who wish to change their optional subjects from Science to Arts/Humanities or within Humanities streams will have to apply for exemption from attendance.
  • Candidates who have passed both the 1st and 2nd year Intermediate earlier can appear for Second Language as an additional subject.
  • Candidates who have passed Intermediate with the BPC group can appear for Mathematics only as an additional subject.
  • Candidates who have passed SSC or equivalent examinations from boards outside Telangana will have to obtain an Eligibility Certificate from TGBIE, Hyderabad, and upload a scanned copy along with their online exemption application.
  • All private candidates granted exemption should answer papers as per the current syllabus prescribed for regular students.
