The Telangana Council of Higher Education has opened the registrations for the Telangana Law Common Entrance Test (TG LAWCET 2026) and Telangana PG Law CET (TG PGLCET) today, February 1, for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes for the academic year 2026–27.

As per the TS LAWCET notification 2026, the state-level entrance exam will be conducted on May 18 by Osmania University on behalf of the TGCHE. While TS LAWCET is conducted for admission to three-year and five-year LLB programmes, PGLCET is held for admission to two-year LLM courses offered by universities and affiliated colleges in Telangana.

The application fee for TS LAWCET is Rs 900 for general category candidates and Rs 600 for SC, ST, and physically challenged candidates. For TG PGLCET, the registration fee is Rs 1,100 for general and Rs 900 for reserved category candidates.

The last date to submit an application without a late fee is April 1. Registrations with late fee, ranging between Rs 500 and Rs 10,000, will continue from April 2 to May 13.

TS LAWCET 2026 eligibility criteria

The TS LAWCET and PGLCET exam will be conducted as a computer-based test (CBT). The entrance exam for LLB will be held in two sessions on May 18, while the five-year LLB and LLM exams will be held in the afternoon session on the same day. While TS LAWCET will be conducted in English along with Telugu or Urdu, PGLCET will be held in English only, the council clarified.

For LLB admissions, candidates should hold a graduate degree under the 10+2+3 pattern with at least 45% marks for the general category, 42% for OBC candidates, and 40% for SC and ST candidates.

For the five year LLB, applicants should have passed intermediate or an equivalent exam with the same minimum qualifying marks. Students appearing in the final year of the qualifying exam are also eligible to apply, provided they produce the pass certificate at the time of admission.
