TN Teacher Eligibility Test 2025 exam date postponed due to admin reasons; registrations open till September 8

The Teachers Recruitment Board, Tamil Nadu has postponed the TN Teachers Eligibility Test 2025 (TET) exam date. As per the new schedule, now the competitive exam will be conducted on November 15 and 16.

Eligible candidates can apply for the TNTET 2025 exam through the official website at trb.tn.gov.in. The registration window will be open till September 8.

Earlier, the TNTET 2025 exam for paper 1 and 2 was scheduled to be conducted on November 1 and 2 respectively. However, the exam dates have been pushed due to administrative reasons, as per the official notification.

The teacher recruitment exam question paper will comprise of 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) and the duration of the pen and paper-based test will be of 3 hours.

Candidates who will qualify the TN TET 2025 will be awarded with a certification for appointment unless otherwise, which will remain valid for life. As per the passing criteria, general category candidates should have to obtain at least 60% to be declared qualified.

Other category applicants, such as Scheduled Caste, SC A, Backward Classes, BC M, Most Backward Classes (MBC), Denotified Community (DNC, and Persons with Disability (PwD) have to secure 55% to pass the exam.

Moreover, for Scheduled Tribe (ST) applicants, 40% is the set criteria to qualify the competitive exam.

The Teachers Recruitment Board recruits teachers in schools under the School Education Department. The TET exam is conducted for recruitment to various categories of posts at school education, higher education level and director of legal studies.
