University of San Diego (USD) has launched an online master’s degree programme in technology for working professionals in India. The programmes allow students in India to earn a full-stack US master’s degree in fields such as artificial intelligence, data science, and cybersecurity, without relocating or interrupting their employment.

The university is offering programmes in MS in Applied Artificial Intelligence, MS in Applied Data Science, MS in Cyber Security Engineering, and MS in Cyber Security Operations and Leadership. Each course follows a 20-month, asynchronous format with weekly milestones.

As per the institute, the programmes’ curriculum has been developed by academics with industry experience and is reviewed annually to reflect changing demands. The online courses are identical to USD’s on-campus programmes, and all graduates will receive the same degree.

The total cost of the programme is approximately Rs 10.49 lakh. Scholarships are available for eligible candidates. Applications for the Fall 2025 intake will close on August 1, while classes are scheduled to begin on September 2. The medium of instruction is English.

Eligibility criteria for admission

To be eligible for the programmes, candidates should hold a four-year degree with at least a second division or a three-year degree with a first division. Proof of English proficiency is required, which can be demonstrated through an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of 7, a Duolingo score of 120, or by having completed two years of previous education in English.

Students will also have access to an alumni network, opportunities for mentorship from USD graduates now working in the industry, and an optional two-week on-campus immersion in the United States. The university has partnered with GradRight as its official outreach and access partner for India. GradRight will support students throughout the admission process and provide ongoing assistance.

Chell Roberts, dean of Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering, University of San Diego, said, “We’re proud to collaborate with GradRight to enable India's talent to pursue advanced, future-proof degrees without putting their careers on hold. Our online master’s programs blend rigorous academics, industry expertise, and flexible delivery — reflecting USD’s deep commitment to education that prepares graduates for real-world innovation and leadership.”
