The Director General of Medical Education and Training, UP has issued guidelines for resignation of seats for round 1, and 2 for the Uttar Pradesh National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Master of Dental Surgery (UP NEET MDS 2025) today. The directives also include rules regarding online counselling of round 3.

According to the guidelines for round 3, the round 3 seat allotment result will be on the basis of the merit list. Candidates who have not been allotted seats in the round 1, 2 will not have to pay the security amount to participate in the UP NEET MDS 2025 counselling.
“If the candidates allotted from the second cycle counseling do not take admission or resign after admission, the entire security amount deposited by the candidate will be confiscated. Therefore, if such candidates want to participate in the third cycle counseling, then they can participate in the third cycle counseling only after depositing the security amount again,” the official notice read.
The guidelines further elaborates that the vacant and resigned seats of second round will be shown to the candidates as ‘clear-cut’ vacancy in the choice filling of the UP NEET MDS 2025 counselling round 3. Besides, the Seat Against Cancellation (SAC) will also be available for the candidates.
The Seat Against Cancellation (SAC) are the virtual vacancy options. If an allotted seat has been upgraded, it will be allotted to another candidate on the basis of merit or option as per rules.
Candidates must note that it is mandatory for them to lock their choice after choice filling as failing to do so will result in disqualification from the seat allotment process.
“If any other seat is allotted as per the option given by the candidate for re-allocation, then the previously allotted seat will automatically become vacant and will be allotted to some other candidate. In case of no re-allocation, the seat previously admitted by the candidate will remain as it is,” as per the guidelines.
Notably, registered applicants must fill their choice of programme and college by leaving the option of the previously admitted seat for re-allocation. In doing so, the previous admitted seat will be allotted again and the candidate will have to appear at the nodal centre for the admission process.
