Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will release the admit cards for the preliminary or prelims exam soon. Both the Civil Services Exam (CSE) and Indian Forest Service (IFS) exams will be conducted on May 24, 2026. Candidates who will be appearing for the first phase of the recruitment process are advised to be ready with their registration number and password to check and download the hall tickets.

Details mentioned on the UPSC admit card include the candidate's name, parents' name, exam date, time, centre address, exam day guidelines, reporting time, photograph and other details. Hard copies of admit cards will not be issued, and candidates will have to carry a printout of the admit card along with a valid ID proof to the exam hall.

UPSC CSE Admit Card 2026: How to check?

Candidates can follow the steps below to download their admit card.

  • Visit the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in.
  • On homepage, click on the admit card link
  • Log in using the registration number and date of birth.
  • Hall tickets will appear on the screen
  • Go through the same and download it
  • Take its printout for future references

The Civil Services Examination is held annually to recruit candidates for various Group A and Group B posts in the Government of India. In addition to the IAS, IPS, and IFS, selections are also made for services such as the Indian Railway Accounts Service, Indian Postal Service, Indian Trade Service, and other allied services. Selection is done on the basis of candidates' performance in three stages- prelims, mains and interview.

Those who qualify prelims will be eligible to appear for the Mains exam scheduled to begin on August 21. Those who qualify mains, will be eligible to appear for interview round, which is usually conducted in February-March. Admit cards for all the stages will be released separately on official website.
