Subscribe NowThe Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) has urged the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) to extend the registration deadline for the Combined Medical Services (CMS) Examination 2026 due to widespread technical issues in the application portal. The request from the association comes after it received several complaints from medical aspirants across the country over malfunctioning of the UPSC CMS application website.
FAIMA informed the exam-conducting authority that candidates were facing technical difficulties while applying for the CMS examination 2026 through the UPSC’s official portal, particularly during the photograph upload stage.
“Many candidates have reported repeated failures despite multiple attempts, causing significant distress and uncertainty. Additionally, candidates have expressed concern that helpline numbers provided for assistance are either not reachable or remain unresponsive despite repeated calls. This lack of support has further aggravated the situation,” the medical association said in a letter to the secretary of UPSC.
UPSC CMS 2026 registration last date today
Expressing that such technical issues are beyond the control of aspirants, the association said that it was unfair for candidates, who should be preparing, to be compelled to struggle with system-related issues.
“With the last date for submission of applications approaching soon, there is a genuine risk that many eligible candidates may lose the opportunity to apply due to no fault of their own,” it added.
The commission will close the UPSC CMS Examination 2026 registration window today at 6 pm. The medical services examination is scheduled to be held on August 2.
FAIMA has requested to resolve the ongoing technical glitches on the UPSC CMS Examination 2026 application portal, and ensure proper functioning of the helpline support system.
It has also urged the UPSC to extend the last date for application submission to compensate for the time lost due to these unforeseen technical difficulties.
