Uttar Pradesh Governor distributes Anganwadi kits to 110 centres, introduces several new initiatives

Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel has distributed kits to 110 new Anganwadi centres in Varanasi and launched several initiatives. So far, kits have been distributed to 1,815 Anganwadi centers, the chief development officer Himanshu Nagpal said.

New programmes were launched for pregnant women, including e-Sathi and Cradle to School. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) will provide stock market information and training to 500 women.

Furthermore, several programmes and agreements were signed during the event, including: kit distribution to 150 new Anganwadi centres, the launch of the e-Sathi platform, the School Coding Programme, and the Nivesh Sakhi Programme.

"The governor directed the government to provide nutrition to malnourished children, provide them with chickpeas and jaggery, seek the help of social organizations, vaccinate women against HPV, and pay special attention to the safety of women and children," the official statement said.

She stressed the need to promote homeopathic treatment in Anganwadi centers and primary schools, and also encouraged the promotion of computer literacy among women and children, and organised safety conferences in rural areas.

Mid-day meals at anganwadi centres

An agreement was signed between ICDS and Feeding India for providing breakfast and midday meals at Anganwadi centers in urban areas, and a certificate was awarded by the Indian Book of Records for the 1,02,446 breast cancer screenings record, achieved on September 29.

The mayor Ashok Tiwari said that due to the efforts of the Governor, there are improvements being made for Anganwadi centres, nutrition of newborn babies and pregnant women, vaccination, and upliftment of girls.

HPV vaccine for girls at govt schools

An agreement was signed between ICDS and Water Aid India for Anganwadi infrastructure and between DCNRLM and Atal Incubation Center (BHU). The dialysis machines at Chowkaghat and Durgakund health centers were inaugurated, and certificates were distributed to HPV-vaccinated girls.

At the Governor's behest, 5,000 girls studying in government schools in the district have been administered the first dose of HPV (cervical cancer prevention), and now the second dose is being administered.

Within 24 hours, 1,02,446 breast cancer screenings were conducted at the district hospital, including CHCs, PHCs, and health centers, for which an official certificate was awarded by the Indian Book of Records.

This certificate was presented to chief medical officer Sandeep Chaudhary by the Governor. Other dignitaries, including officials of the district administration, were also present at the event.
