Covasant hackathon winning ideas saw AI agent testing, intelligent discovery, chat builders, and routing engines.
Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) Chennai has won the nationwide Covasant AI Hackathon 2025 with its project on AI agent testing. The project was designed to evaluate AI agents through stress testing, safety checks, and cost diagnostics. The winning team will receive a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh along with an invitation for a paid internship. The six-week internship at Covasant will provide students with the chance to work closely with the product and engineering teams.
The Covasant hackathon was an invite-only event for “elite Indian tech institutions”. Teams from IIIT Raichur, IIT Bhubaneswar, and a second team from VIT Chennai secured the runner-up positions. These teams submitted AI ideas for AI-powered intelligent discovery, conversational chat builders, and smart routing engines.
During the Covasant hackathon, teams from top technical institutions received mentorship from the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) organisation and the Chief Delivery Officer (CDO) organisation. Out of 100 applications, a total of 22 teams were selected to participate in the three-week development phase. The hackathon was hosted virtually from Covasant’s Hyderabad headquarters.
