West Bengal NEET UG 2025: WBMCC allows conversion from Indian to NRI till midnight; 7 mandatory documents

Download EBookThe West Bengal Directorate of Medical Education has issued a notice allowing candidates to convert their category from Indian to NRI by September 7. Candidates participating in the West Bengal NEET UG 2025 counselling for MBBS and BDS admissions will have to send the request to avail reservation benefits.
The West Bengal Medical Counselling Committee (WBMCC) recently opened the registration window for the WB NEET UG round 2 counselling process. The online registration and fee payment portal will remain open till September 11 on the official website, wbmcc.nic.in.
Candidates who registered for round 1 but were not allotted seats will be eligible to apply for the conversion. Those students who have registered and verified their documents for round 2 will also be eligible to request for conversion from Indian to NRI quota.
Such candidates are requested to send an email to - wbnricounseling2025@gmail.com – with all the required documents, as specified by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for the All India Quota (AIQ) seats.
All requests will be accepted till 12 midnight today, September 7. “Upon acceptance of such request, such candidates can edit their registration details through their previous login credentials, do payment of counseling fee afresh and regenerate their candidate profile letter on 10.09.2025 & 11.09.2025 as per server time,” the official notice read.
After confirmation from the WBMCC, candidates have been instructed to edit their profile details through West Bengal NEET UG candidate login, and make the payment to regenerate their registration. The window for re-registration will be made available on September 10 and 11.
Candidates who are yet to make the payment for round 2 West Bengal NEET UG counselling 2025 will be allowed to directly edit their category from India to NRI during the registration process.
WB NEET UG round 2 schedule
As per the revised schedule, round 2 application process will remain active till September 11. The document verification for registered candidates will be opened again tomorrow, September 8, and will be available till September 12.
West Bengal NEET choice filling for round 2 will commence on September 15 and the allotment results will be declared on September 22.
West Bengal NEET UG 2025: NRI documents
Candidates availing the NRI quota will have to mandatorily upload the following seven documents to claim the reservation.
- NEET UG 2025 admit card and score card
- Proof of NRI status of the parent/relative:
- Valid Passport,
- Visa / Residence Permit / Work Permit
- Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card / PIO card, if applicable
- NRI Certificate issued by the Competent Authority (Embassy / Indian Consulate).
- Certificate of relationship between the NRI relative and the candidate issued by the competent revenue authority through the family tree.
- Affidavit (Notarized) by the NRI relative stating that they will sponsor the entire course fee and living expenses of the candidate during the period of study duly supported by NRE (Non-Resident External) Bank Account Pass Book.
- Class 10 and Class 12 mark sheets and passing certificate
- Birth certificate
- Passport of candidate or sponsor (optional).
