NEW DELHI: In response to its findings during the surprise actions, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued show-cause notices to 27 schools of Rajasthan and Delhi for violating the affiliation bye-laws and norms. The board conducted inspections at these schools to examine their compliance with the board rules.
The schools which have been issued notices include 22 from two regions of Delhi and five from Rajasthan’s Ajmer. The schools will now be required to provide clarifications regarding their enrollment practices, adherence to infrastructural standards and other norms of the board.
During the inspections, CBSE found that the schools had enrolled a higher number of students in Classes 11 and 12, who are not physically attending the classes. It found discrepancies in the attendance records maintained by these schools which led to a doubt on their compliance with the board’s regulations. Some institutions were also found flouting infrastructural norms, “compromising the quality of education and safety for students”.
“The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has initiated strong action after its surprise inspections conducted at 27 schools affiliated with the Board in Rajasthan and the NCT of Delhi. During these inspections, several violations of the Board's Bye-Laws were identified, particularly concerning the enrollment and attendance practices of these institutions,” the board said in an official statement.
The list of schools affiliated with CBSE which have been issued the notices is given below.
