The INC did not receive any remarks or recommendations from the state governments or the Gujarat and Jammu and Kashmir Nurses and Midwives Council regarding the suitability of the colleges, according to the official notice.
A total of 42 nursing colleges in Gujarat and Jammu and Kashmir have been derecognised by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) after they failed to comply with the rules and skipped inspections for several years. The council has deemed such institutes as ‘unsuitatable’ for conducting nursing programmes.
The council said that the state governments were requested to submit their recommendations to the council regarding the suitability of the nursing institutions .
However, the council did not receive any remarks or recommendations from the state governments or the Gujarat and Jammu and Kashmir Nurses and Midwives Council regarding the suitability of the colleges.
Therefore, the council took the matter in its entirety. According to the INC’s record, these institutions have failed to apply for “statutory inspection for several years and were found deficient/unsuitable for conducting nursing programmes,” according to the official statement.
It also stated that any candidates holding a recognised qualification from these institutions shall be entitled to be registered only in the state of Gujarat and Jammu and Kashmir.
